2004 Little Rock Dulcimer Getaway
Thanks to Linda Evans, Ed Foley, and Bob Mcgowan for their kind remarks (on the Sweet Music Digest) regarding the Little Rock Dulcimer Getaway (LRDG) held this past Saturday. Thanks also to Linda Brockinton, Neil Gaston, and Scott Odena for their excellent contribution. I've heard nothing but rave reviews of their workshops.

The first annual LRDG was successful enough to lead to a second annual LRDG expanded to two days. with open stage, directed jams and a Saturday night concert. Next year Friday and Saturday Aug. 12th & 13th 2005 will be the dates. The second annual will also include a hammered dulcimer section. The venue at Pulaski Heights Baptist Church is excellent. Every thing is in one building and the classes can be separated so that there is no sound inference. The church chef will provide meals on site.

Put Aug. 12 & 13, 2005 on the calendar. There will be more information to come as planning proceeds.

Thanks also to all those who attended. We hope to see you all next year.

I would like to announce the beginning of a new website to share my passion for the bowed dulcimer www.boweddulcimer.com  It is my hope that others will send their thoughts, ideas, etc.  Of course, I feature Ken Bloom, who has recently finished a new mountain dulcimer for Sarah Elisabeth, who kindly shared her pictures with me (her mother is a photographer).  She is participating in the Mama Maude and Bob Mize Tribute on October 21 click here for more information
The debut concert for her Trio (Sarah Elisabeth and the Initials) will be November 19.  Please take a moment to visit her website http://www.sarahelisabeth.com/sarahelisabeth.swf and be sure to read her "Message from Sarah".  Thanks Sarah - you are growing up to be a very nice young lady and we look forward to many years of hearing your music (the slow songs too ;)

Life can bring us MANY challenges ... but somewhere inside of us God makes sure there is a SONG IN OUR HEARTS if we just listen.
